Terms of Use

Last updated September 6, 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of BlurCam ("the App"), made by WorkersLab LLC ("we," "us," "our"). By downloading, installing, or using BlurCam, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the App.

1. What BlurCam is

BlurCam is a camera app for iOS that detects and blurs faces in photos and video as you capture them. All recording, face detection, blurring and saving happen on your device — see our Privacy Policy for the full detail on what data is and isn't involved.

BlurCam's face blurring is best-effort. It does not guarantee that every face in every frame will be detected or obscured — faces that are turned away, partly hidden, very small, in poor light, or moving quickly may not be detected. BlurCam reduces the chance a person is identifiable; it is not a guarantee of anonymity. You are responsible for reviewing your recordings before sharing them, and for how you use the App, including compliance with any laws about recording people in your jurisdiction.

2. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use BlurCam on Apple-branded devices you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to Apple's Standard End User License Agreement and these Terms. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

3. No account required

BlurCam does not require you to create an account. Where a subscription is involved, your purchase is tied to your Apple Account through the App Store.

4. Subscriptions

BlurCam is free to download and explore. Recording video and taking photos require an auto-renewing subscription ("Premium"). Face blurring strength is identical for every subscriber; Premium determines what you can capture, never how well faces are protected.

PlanPriceRenews
Individual$2.99 / month or $24.99 / yearMonthly or yearly
Family (up to 6 members)$5.99 / month or $49.99 / yearMonthly or yearly

Prices are shown in the App and may vary by region and currency. Apple may adjust displayed prices for tax or currency changes.

  • Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
  • Auto-renewal: subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the price you agreed to.
  • Managing or cancelling: manage or cancel any time in Settings › your Apple Account name › Subscriptions on your iPhone. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not refund the current period.
  • Free trial (if offered): any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple under their standard policies. We do not process refunds directly.
  • Restoring purchases: if you reinstall BlurCam or move to a new device, use Restore Purchase on the paywall to reinstate an active subscription tied to your Apple Account.

Subscription billing and management are handled by Apple. We use RevenueCat to track entitlement across your devices — see the Privacy Policy for what that involves.

5. Free download and trial

Downloading BlurCam and exploring it, including the live camera preview and every blur style, is free and requires no account. Recording requires a Premium subscription. The annual Individual plan begins with a 3-day free trial; cancel before the trial ends and you are not charged. Earlier versions of these terms described a free recording tier, which was removed in app version 1.1.0.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use BlurCam to violate any applicable law, including laws governing recording or photographing other people without consent where required
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App, except where applicable law expressly permits it
  • Use the App to develop a competing product
  • Misrepresent BlurCam's capabilities — for example, presenting its blurring as a guarantee of anonymity to a third party

7. Intellectual property

BlurCam, its design, code, and branding are owned by WorkersLab LLC and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Your recordings belong to you — we never receive a copy of them and claim no rights to them.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

BlurCam is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that face detection will be uninterrupted, error-free, or will detect every face in every condition.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, WorkersLab LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of or inability to use BlurCam — including a face that goes undetected and unblurred. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where the law does not allow it to be limited.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to BlurCam if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the App and delete it at any time.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use BlurCam after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which WorkersLab LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where local consumer-protection law requires otherwise.

13. Apple as a third-party beneficiary

These Terms are between you and WorkersLab LLC, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide support for BlurCam. In the event of a failure of BlurCam to conform to any warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for BlurCam. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
